On another forum, I saw a report from someone who flew from Spain to Liverpool last week - There were only 14 people on the flight and customs searched all of them and their baggage. The poster said that several people were over the cigarette allowances and looked very upset. I don't know whether there were fines, confiscations, etc. but worth ensuring you know the limits to stick to...

One carton of cigs is all that is allowed.

We flew via Alicante and cost of a carton was €45 approx. Assume most airport duty free will be the same price.

If flying back to the UK you get the cheaper price. I paid 37 for 250g amber leaf if I was flying to another eu country it would have been 55. Cigs were about 50.
