For those who live here all year round winter is a joy, after all this is the warmest winter location place in the whole of Europe,
Winter in LA - with the CV19 restrictions on bars after 10pm (you have to be outside) there will be more estufas exteriors (gas radiant heaters) than ever before, but mostly it will be daytime sitting in the sun. under clear blue skies. You don't need Vitamin D capsules here, you can get sunburnt over a couple of beers.
Most of the bars/restaurants have cut staff, so its mainly the owners cooking and pulling beers and serving.
The beaches are clean, there has been no gota fria flood rains, so the water is clear, there are free Mar Menor ferry excursions courtesy of the ayuntamientos de Los Alcázares.
There are good numbers of people on the promenade, particularly on the weekend.
Further afield, with the reduced human presence, there are record numbers of flamingos on the San Pedro del Pinatar salinas and there is more wildlife to see in the Sierra Espuña.
Its tough living here, but someone has to do it!!
