I like many others have watched the different times given for the ending of lockdown

As it stands I do not see when I would feel safe to go out as normal? Masks etc we are assured they are needed by one expert yet another says they are of no use, I am also worried about people coming here from madrid, they will be leaving the high spot to arrive at the lowest rate of virus, but bars and restaurants being an ex owner I feel sorry for but I could not possibly in the foreseeable future sit amongst others from ????? Drinking a coffee i see this being safe in many months maybe years but the whole of Europe needs to be clear otherwise visitors carrying the virus could arrive from another country and be sitting at next table let’s hope for a vaccine that may end it all and hope they find the point where it started so that future things like this can not happen

Instead of worrying or speculating about when or what may happen, why not wait and see? A degree of stoicism is needed, rather than aimless chat?

I worry about the things I can change - the rest is covered by "que sera sera".

Whatever happens, wherever we live, a "leap of faith" will be required, life as we know it will have to adjust to a "new way" of living. We can still find joy in the small things. Lift your head up, and simply keep going, that's all we can do!

Dear D,

The amazing thing about human beings is our level of intelligence and ability to adapt and overcome.  If there's a problem, it's in our very natures to figure ways to cope.  Start by reducing your scope of the problem.

1) You can do nothing about what is happening in the rest of the world.

2) Nothing about what is happening within the rest of Spain either.

3) Nothing about incomers and holiday makers.  Although I am confident that the demand now for all travellers to Spain holding a Health (CV free) certificate and with temp/health checks at point of departure and on arrival will do much to minimise any incoming infections.

That leaves you with only one concern - your own immediate area.

Now you must devise ways of keeping yourself/family safe but in a way that also permits you all to enjoy life again.

1) Wear masks and gloves when outdoors.   Hubby & I have what we jokingly call our 'plague' coats/cardigans. These live in the hall along with a bin for glove disposal.

    a)  Go into hall.  Put on gloves then mask.  Don the coat or cardi.  Off you trot.

    b) Come home.  Take off plague jacket.  Gloves into bin.  Put mask into wash.  Wash hands.

2) You can enjoy sitting on the prom or in cafes and, whilst keeping your distance, hear and watch the comings and goings of the world around you.

3)  Keeping a safe distance you can also chat with anyone.  Especially your friends and neighbours.   Ring and arrange to meet friends for a walk on the prom.  Good exercise mentally as well as physically.

We ring friends and via facetime enjoy a drink; play games; have a laugh - or  moan! Chat over the garden fence with neighbours.

There you go.  Life as 'normal' except you have to wear masks and keep a safe distance.

I'm sure, strange as tho it seems right now, you will adapt and find life more acceptable and more fun than you did in lockdown.  And eventually, life will get back to normal.

i do worry about how thoroughly glasses, cup, crockery and cutlery will be sterilised. Not many restaurants (and even fewer back-street bars) will have autoclaves.

Simple answer to that worry.  Don't go into places where you will have to use their crockery and cutlery.  Take out picnics & flasks or bottles of whatever takes your fancy :)) - invite friends to join you.  Stay clear of the beach-bars and local eateries if it would worry you.

Picnic worry free and happy by yourself(ves) or with friends.

I remember a lovely picnic hubby and I had.  We forgot the glasses, so we ate our halves of melon (yup, we are that greedy) and poured our wine into the skin halves.
