Driving Calais to Los Alcazares

Go on to Via Michelin. You can input destinations and it will give a route with or without tolls, plus any cost of tolls. It'll also calculate fuel costs.

We drove a van from Calais to Los Alcazares at the beginning of February and although the weather was atrocious (especially in the mountains!) The route we used was very straightforward and in my opinion it is worth paying a few of the cheaper tolls as they save quite a lot of time and probably balance out in fuel costs. We did it in 25 hours with just cat nap stops.

I would advise paying tolls from calais to ruern otherwise you go through small towns with loads of roundabouts doing 20km. 

Put sat nav on going down past bordoux we then head for pau then follow signs for zaragoza which in French is something like ssaragoussa. 

When at zaragoza follow signs to valencia then alicante then n332 to torrevieja then los Alcazares. 

I have heard Spain are going to stop charging tolls, if so ap7 from valencia all the way.

I would recommend downloading an app called “Here maps” the beauty of it is once the maps are downloaded in my case on my phone, I have England and Spain it all works off line that is a big plus in not using your data. it still beeps at radar or speed cameras but you set your destination and it calculates the route often giving you choices, press start and away you go, it will also verbally direct you, ie at the roundabout take the 2nd exit. It already knows where you are to start with.
