No granting of exchanging UK to Spanish Driving licences

Our Residency apps went in on
4th Sept. 2020. We applied for driving licences in early Dec 2020 - as was officially advised. TIEs
finally arrived in early January, 2021.
We received the following email information from our
Gestors stating because we cannot show legal TIE
'residency' prior to 2021 we cannot have driving licences. As far as I can gather no agreement has been made by the UK! Looks like we shall all have to take the driving test. We shall be
prepping accordingly. Hope this helps others.

Attached I send you the response of Traffic in relation to the change of British driver's license:
"Community
renewals whose first residence is dated 2021 cannot be admitted because
from 1/1/2021 they are no longer community. Unless they provide a
certificate of first residence from the national police where they
recognize their residence from 2020."
This file was verified by
telephone on December 17, 2020. He has the residence application dated
August 20, 2020, but the favorable resolution is from 2021 (logically

cannot because the resolution is from 2021. You will have to wait for
the agreement between Spain and the United Kingdom to be made.
In
summary, it seems that changes of driver's license cannot be processed
until the agreement between Spain and the United Kingdom on this matter
is made.What we can do is collect your original licenses
from the Traffic Office and when there is an agreement between the
countries, process them. At the moment we cannot do anything else.
