Can anyone help, are there any golf societies in the area that I could become a member of.

Hi Peter, I am NOT a golfer.
There is a golf shop in/at the Hotel 525 in LA.
I think when I looked in the window there was a list and also the membership fees published..

Hi Pete, there used to be a Society that met up at the Causeway bar in Torre de la Horadada, which I think has now resumed post-covid.
I'm coming over from UK as of Thu 29th Oct for 10 days, if you're out here and wanted to go round as a 2-ball on one of the local courses? Cheers Tony
