Is Christmas /NY good to visit? - Page 2

We did last year 23rd Dec to 30th Dec. Weather was fab. Like others have said cold in the evening. You’ll need to book for Xmas lunch or have a bbq like we did. It’s quiter but there’s enough open to keep everyone happy.

You must be in a different place than me…..quieter but never deserted!

We stayed at our house in LA last Christmas and NY and had a great time. Our children, partners and Grandaughter came too so there was 9 of us! Beach & swimming on Boxing Day and some restaurants & bars still open. We watched the Boxing day Santa swim and said we'll sign up next time! We are staying for Kings Celebration on 6th Jan this time. We just love it all year round!

Bitterly cold nonsense...ate outside last Xmas at home ..glorious weather and a great time to come..the Spanish don't waste millions on Xmas tat ..they don't celebrate it like us on Xmas day but you will find places offering Xmas lunch and new years eve events but you will need to book..obviously it gets cooler in the evening so move around ..Spanish houses aren't built for cold weather and huge energy bills like blighted is ...

I agree a lovely time to visit, no hustle and bustle quite a few restaurants open on New Year’s Eve with fireworks in the strip.

Try the uk if you think it’s bitterly cold.

This January was 28deg during the day but yes cold at night, but obviously you’re inside for your meal/party.

So you are pleased you now live back in the UK. Good luck LA has a lot to offer except if you want 24 hour bars and rowdy crowds. Plenty of sunshine nice restaurants and thing to do, unless as I said you want rowdy bars.

Lived in Spain for over 25 years no regrets 🙂
