Hi Vic

It is a shame you had these problems it sounds as they are experts in everything but nothing.

Did you check if they are Legal ask for their documentation to prove this .

I would also ask them for a complaints form, which every legal company must have. I did this with some plumbers that said they were registered for gas installations, when the job was finished I asked for the certificate to prove that the work had been carried out to necessary specifications they said this was not needed, knowing the regulations on this I said it was they disagreed and left, as I had paid for the work I obtained a complaints sheet completed it and took to their registered address (which was their house) for them to sign I was informed if they refused to sign I should call the police as by law they must sign the completed document.

After much discussion they refused to sign or refund 480 euros I had paid. I then said ok I will call the police, they then shut the door, unperturbed by this I stood there and called the police, 5 minutes later the mother came out of the house and asked the problem, it was politely explained she understood completely spoke to her sons,  and after much disagreement between them the sons went inside and got the cash to give me a complete refund. Police cancelled.

I suppose the moral of this story is although the company was registered and legal do not let them get away with shoddy or unprofessional work. If they are not legal and you are not happy just tell them you will go to the hacienda and register a complaint against them.

This may not be of help in your current situation but do not be ripped off by any person saying they can do this or that and then failing misarably.

Thanks for that info.  I will look into it when I get back to Spain.  At the moment, I don't want to rock the boat until I have my NLV/TIE sorted.  Paperwork says it will still run from 28th Sept 2022.

I'm still more interested in this "new rules" crap saying you cannot apply for an appointment for renewal until the day after the first one expires.  And we know how long it takes to get an appointment!!

Hi,

Having been here 10 months now, we’re coming up to our first renewal.

Whilst I understood the initial process (there were plenty of guides and helpful Posts), I’m really not sure of the second year process.

I’ve been given the name of a company that would help - they’ve quoted me €425 per person, which sounds a bit pricey, but I’m far from comfortable in tackling it on my own.

Anyone have any advice of how they did it?

Thanks

Hi we have just collected our new TIE cards it took 135days from the day we walked into our solicitor office. The issue I believe because it’s new to everyone no one is sure how it works. We used the solicitor on Hacienda del Alamo golf resort. The charge was €150 per person.

Initiated 1st TIE renewal in October 2022. It expired Nov 21st 2022.

Collected TIE @ Oficina de Extranjería, Molina de Segura, Murcia May 8th 2023

I think I'd still be waiting if the rule changed to application only after old card expiry
