What do we know about the new restrictions on those travelling to Spain from UK?

...Not a lot

And we don't like posting until we have all the full correct information, but this is what we've got so far (by being detectives and piecing different info from different places...)

1)  YESTERDAY; Pedro Sánchez incorrectly announced on CadenaSer (Barcelona Radio Station) that those travelling from the UK will need a PCR test or be fully vaccinated to enter the Balearic Islands... ?????

It turns out that, it doesn't just affect Balearic Islands, it affects Spain ENTIRELY.

It also turns out that, not only a PCR test is accepted but also an antigen test (as always).

So... A very confusing statement for all.

2)  THEN... Also yesterday, Arancha González (Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs EU & Cooperation of Spain) tweeted that from TODAY () Spain would be "welcoming" "tourists" with a negative PCR or fully vaccinated.

So, two contrasting statements made by two different member of government.. So far so normal

THEN she later added a second tweet (yesterday, but hours later after the first confusing tweet), stating the following: "The decisión will be published in the Spanish official journal tomorrow and it will enter into force 72hrs later".

Read her tweets here: https://twitter.com/AranchaGle.../status/1409451800260980736

Sooooo... It has now been published in BOE: (https://www.boe.es/.../2021/06/29/pdfs/BOE-A-2021-10746.pdf - UK has been removed for the Exempted Countries and States list)

CONCLUSION:

**WHAT ONE WOULD THEREFORE UNDERSTAND IS THAT... From 72 hours from TODAY (Friday 2nd July), if you are travelling from the UK from that date you will either need a negative PCR/Antigen test OR to be fully vaccinated (from at least 14 days before) with official proof.**

For now, that is all we know!

Check El País English Edition for similar information.

Here you can see official Spanish Government pages on travel to Spain. They will state if they have been updated from 28/28th June or not. https://www.mscbs.gob.es/.../alertasActual/nCov/spth.htm

AND

https://www.spth.gob.es/

Please remember, if we don't post, or aren't answering your questions, it is because we do not have the answers yet and most definitely do not want to mislead you!

Oh and sometimes we try and do our real life jobs (not N332), or eat, or drink water and all that stuff in between too

We will carry on informing as soon as we know more.

Thanks for the update BUT…..

does that mean an antigen test IS acceptable as I’ve been told IT HAS to be a PCR?

So confused ….
