yes…very quiet in winter and busy in summer as many properties are Spanish holiday homes

We bought close to Los Alcazares a year ago. I have been out every month since and I cycle up and down the coast every visit.

I have cycled along the main road through Los Urrutias probably 10 times throughout the year and sometimes I cycle along the front just to enjoy the sea view.

It certainly looks a very Spanish resort to me and is quiet in the off season. If we'd seen a property there that happened to suit what we were looking for I am pretty sure we would have been happy with that location. That said I can't recall a cafe being open along the actual sea front, but I may be wrong as I wasn't looking to stop there. I go a bit further along to Los Nietos or Mar de Cristal for a coffee stop on my rides.

If it's raucous nightlife you desire I would head about 2 hours north to Benidorm!

Good day

Thank you for your reply. we are looking for something close to the beach which makes that area perfect. We also don't like to buildup areas. We will only want to come winters and hopefully rent during summer months but I spoke to people and they said we will be the only people there during winter and nothing much will be open. Not noticed little coffee shops or restaurant on the beach front. We do like peace and quiet on the beachfront but to quiet could be a problem. We like to walk along the beach and you can't really go far there.

Have you considered Torre de La Horadada

Although quiet during the winter months there still are lots of bars and restaurants open and you are close to Pilar de La horadada which is a working spanish town so everything open year round

Good luck

Have a look at Santiago de La Ribera further round the Mar Menor could be exactly what you’re looking for

Hi there

Thank for quick response. I am interested in frontline or walking distance to beack with seaviews and up to €200,000, so very limited. Therfore Urrutias has perfect position to get frontline in my price bracket but concern that it might be just to quite when we are there during winters. I am searching the recommended area now. Thank you

I often ride along the front from Santiago de la Ribera to Lo Pagan where the mud lagoons are. Always something open for a coffee and really pleasant promenades/beaches too. Los Alcazares always has several beach bars open as well.

I am looking at Lis Alcazares aswell and do like the feel as I can walk and stop for a drink or food. Is there any other areas like Los Alcázares  with low rise buildings and miles to walk?

Mar de Cristal to Los Nietos is a decent stretch for a walk with a nature reserve to go through. We cycled this way in December and January and I believe there was a nice beach front bar always open in Mar de Cristal.
