Hi in January we are coming to our newly purchased property but for a few days will need somewhere to stay whilst we sort out the things we need to buy eg bedding kettle etc to make our house livable for the three months we are staying . We would like to be in los urrutias where our property is also a reliable car hire recommendation. . One bed one bathroom would be fine . Any ideas please

Try www.booking.com for accommodation. There are not many hotels in the area, but plenty of apartments to rent and I would expect rental to be low as January is out of peak seasons.

For car hire www.doyouspain.com is a good broker. However, avoid Goldcar.

Alternatively, I find Centauro to be reliable, but I think you need to book directly with them. Again, rates should be reasonable due to the time of year - I would expect less than €100 for a week's hire.

Hope this helps!

Hi I am visiting Estrella Mar in May with my husband in the hope of buying a small holiday home. I appreciate it’s a quiet area - that’s fine - but my concern is getting around. I was hoping to be able to get to supermarkets and the bigger resorts/towns by taxi (or bus etc). I’m not a confident driver really. Is there a local reliable taxi service or would it need to come from another area? Does that make them unwilling to drive out, or very expensive? Thank you for reading. All advice welcome.
