Yes you can just turn up any time
I was 30 mins early for my appointment time. They said can do now as you can just walk in at any time

Yes went from Alicante airport at checking in desk they wrote in the boarding pass. PCR Ok
At Gatwick airport at boarder control checked my antigen test and let me through
So the 20 euro antigen test worked.
