Does one need a NIE to buy a car in Sp? 

Hi, yes and we needed our padron. Car dealer sent off all the paperwork. We’re really glad we took the plunge.

you do not need to be on Padron…if you are not resident you absolutely should not! Its for residents only!

I can only state from my experience. 

Can I ask if you bought where you went? I am in San Pedro and looking for the same sort of budget. Also do you keep it in Alicante? do you recommend a car park there that you leave the car at?

I am in a different position. I had to fly to Murcia at short notice and left my car in the U.K. is there anybody who would like their car driven back to the U.K. in April? Or do you know anybody who would drive my car here (a Toyota estate so lots of space)? It is standing in my drive in Orpington. If I buy a car here to drive to U.K. with (I came here to adopt two dogs who lost their owner) I Will have problems selling it there….

Hi Gaynor, yes, we bought from Autohouse La Manga and they were excellent. Just over a year on and we couldn’t be more pleased with the car. We use Plane Parking at Murcia airport, they also cover Alicante airport. The service is great value for money, they meet us at the airport, park the car off site, literally 3/4 minutes from airport and then when we go to uk, we just drive the car back to the airport. If we had to divert to Alicante they would drive our car to meet us there too. We can come and go as many times as we want under a yearly contract.
