Hi there. Im planning to spend 6 months of the summer season in Mar Menor when I retire next year. Are there many expats in the area?

Hi there. I was wondering if someone could please take the time to send me some general info on what it is like living here long term and are there many expats in the area? Im interested in spending the winter/summer in this area and would really appreciate some general information on the area.

Many thanks

June

The area is definitely on the road to economic recovery, there are British, Belgians, Scandinavians and Irish abound in the whole area.

It is such a tranquil place, you will enjoy all aspects of life over there.

Hi, It's a great place to live in in winter but very very hot in summer.

You don't necessarily need a car, I manage quite well with an electric push bike.

That said I occasionally hire a car to explore the Spanish interior.

English cinema is fantastic value, the street markets for food are great.

Hope it goes well for you.
