Hi
Hoping to buy a home on Mar menor this year, I love my fishing and have a small inflatable boat with outboard. Can I fish with this in the mar menor, I also would like to fish from jettys and shore. Anybody out there can advise if it's possible and indeed worthwhile. We saw a chap fishing from a canoe and some from the beach when we were out in November.

Possible. Need a fishing license. (Town Hall I think). And motor boat license, up to 6M from Federacion Motornautica with a course n test. (Or kayak/beach).
Do I really need a licence and take a test for a small inflatable, it’s not a rib, it fits in a bag in the boot? Is the outboard the issue? If so I have oars and could row it. I hoped it not being the open sea there wouldn’t be an issue.🙁

I think yes, with oars would be ok. It's the engine.
You could go for the "Titulo" later. There are parts of the Mar Mentor you need to know about.

Haven't fished myself. I'm into sailing and boating. Seen quite a few fishing though
The Med might be a bit better so I'm told.

Hi Brian. In similar position. I live in Santiago de La Robert and have just bought 3 metre inflatable with 3.5 hp outboard. Not launched yet. Waiting for some launching wheels to arrive. As for regulations, if boat is under 4 metres and outboard less than 11hp no licence is needed. However a licence nautical is advisable to avoid problems. I did a 1 day course ( €150 ) in English at Port Thomas Maestro on the Mar Menor. As for fishing you need separate licences for fishing off the beach and for boat fis hinges. I have still to sort these. Applications are at San Javier Ayunumiento. Free for pensioners and small fee if not. Boat application seems fairly complicated. Sorry but have never been fishing in my life before. Have been told this time of year it's mostly sea bass. But later when it warms up there is more variety. Certainly in summer beach fishing is only allowed from 9.00pm to 7.00am. I'm looking forward to starting. I guess I've a lot to learn.
