Thanks Roger

I reckon that there are at least 20 golf courses within about an hour's drive of Camposol, including the iconic (and very expensive) courses at La Manga.

The closest, within 30 mins drive are: Alhama Signature Golf and Hacienda del Alamo to the East and Lorca Golf Resort to the West.

Most of the other courses are to the East & North-East and are 45 mins+ away - but driving around here is easy, little traffic, good roads. So then you have: Mar Menor, Roda, La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda Riquelme, Lo Romero.

To the West and just over the border into Andalucia are Aguilon, Desert Springs and Valle de Este.

For a keen golfer, in my opinion, the best courses are at La Manga, Lo Romero, El Valle, Aguilon, Desert Springs & Roda, but everyone will have their preferences.

As you say, Camposol is competitively priced, but it's not for everyone. I would suggest reading the many threads on this forum about Camposol and, most importantly, come over, rent a property and get to know the area before you consider purchasing...

Hope this helps!

In my opinion, the course is a good layout, but not kept in very good condition. It is cheap for a round though.

On price - golf in Spain is more expensive than the UK.

Most decent courses are €60-80 per round - of the ones I mentioned, Lo Romero is €120 per round and La Manga is €197 per round, unless you can get a deal. There are broker sites such as Leading Courses and GolfinSpain, that will often offer deals, so they are worth exploring.

Cheaper courses such as Camposol and Lorca ar €30-45 per round, but that's reflected in the course maintenance & condition.

These prices are just the green fees - a buggy (which you will definitely want in hot weather) will be an additional €15-45 per round.
