Hi, is it possible to get an email reminder when car tax is due and pay it remotely if we are in the UK? We are first time car owners in Spain but not resident so could well be in the UK when payment is due? Thanks.

You can look up when the payment is due on your Ayuntamiento website, and when in Spain arrange a direct debit. This will avoid penalties for non- or late- payment.
I am not aware of any reminder service in Murcia, but it is normally due first week of May, you can use this link to download copies of the form and also to pay it online.
