Hi,

We moved out here to Dolores permanently just before Christmas, having owned our place for four years.

It's a lovely village with a good Spanish feel. We live in the town houses across from the new builds.

The weather has kept us in over the last few weeks, but it looks set to pick up now, so we are looking forward to lazy days on the Solarium over long lunches...

Happy to share a glass of something with neighbours.

That's great to know Frank.

So looking forward to our time out there!

We will be hiring a car for our 1 or 2 week holidays. Not sure that's a great idea for longer stays. Do you folks know of any local transfer services offering to/from Alicante airport?

Pete.

I understand that car hire is expensive at the moment....however, the alternatives are to take the bus (though I'm not sure of the times/routes) or get a taxi. Again, I have not done this but believe that it is not cheap.

I have always hired a car, as the cost of a taxi each way was similar to hiring a car for the week.

Hi

Congratulations on your purchase. My husband and I both moved here permanently from Bridgend (so not too far from Aberdare), two years ago. We moved with our daughter who was 12 at the time and have never regretted it!

We live between Cartagena and Fuente Alamo so a bit further away from you, but love life here.

Try Flamenca cars

https://flamencacars.com/

https://m.facebook.com/FlamencaParking/

They do car hire, parking and transfers for both Murcia & Alicante airports.

Kind regards

That's wonderful to hear! I assume you are making a living out there which is doubly impressive.

Thanks for the info.

Pete.

My husband was in the army then did 30 years as a police officer so he has his pension to help support us and we have both found part time work. (We feel we are way too young to retire)!

Good luck! If we can help with any other information, just private message.

Kind regards
