Hi can anyone help me with how to pay our car tax online please.
We brought our car new in September so it already had car tax but someone said it is now due again in March so how do we know this? Also if it is due could anyone send me the link please?

Cars in Spain must be taxed from 1st January to 31st December each year, so the bit of tax that you inherited will have expired 31/12. The tax is due at different times in different towns, so you should ask at Torre Pacheco Ayuntamiento when it is due, and it is best to get them to set up a Direct Debit so it will happen when it should. There are fines for late or non-payment, much more that the cost of the tax.

The  car tax is payable by whoever owns the car in January. The bill should  come in the next week or so if the car was registered to you back in September. When it comes you can pay online or at a cash machine with the bar code. Then you can set up a direct debit but you need the bill first.  As we live in the same village am assuming it will come the same time as mine. The fine for late payment is not that much 10 or 20 euros. I'll let you know when mine arrives. Usually comes early March.

Torre Pacheco bills aren't sent out until late March/April if you have a digital certificate you can change to a direct debit on the Ayuntamiento website

Wish i could, but trying to get a Digital Certificate is like trying to find Hen's teeth!

Either wrong browser, restricted access, etc. Thought I was onto a winner using my mobile phone on Cl@ve yesterday - got as far as inputting all of my details and got error message 'NIE - Restricted Access'

It's definitely not easy trying to go digital in Spain!

You have to go in person to the town hall to set it up
