Looking to move to San Javier

Is it San Javier itself or Santiago de la Ribera which is also part of San Javier?

San Javier is a working town with plenty of bars and good restaurants, commercial centre and a lovely main square with the town hall and a beautiful parish church. Always lots of free events, fiestas and concerts. Not touristy at all but a small number of expats....If you mean Ribera thats very different !

It’s a residential area of Los Alcázares lots of typical Spanish terraced houses with communal pools serving a row of streets Parts of Los Narejos are very near the beach

The very northern end of Los Narejos is actually administered by San Javier council, so its a bit confusing, but it is actually three or so km. south of San Javier, so it is as Chrissywissy says the residential end of Los Alcázares.

It has a high percentage of expats, as you rapidly discover in the Los Narejos supermarkets. It often seems there are more Brits in Aldi and Consum that Spanish.

Hi Robert how far a walk is it from the residential area of los narejos to the centre of los alcarez? Also does los narejos have its own bars and restsurants? Many Thanks Christina

Hi Crissy, in your reply to a post you mentioned santiago de ribera is very different to san javier in what way please? There are more expats etc. Many thanks Christina 

Santiago de la Ribera is the beach resort of San Javier....San Javier itself is a Spanish working town where the town hall and council offices are based but has lots of amenities too...many of the fiestas take place in the town hall square and it has a great outdoor concert venue too with music festivals and free concerts...maybe  5/10 mins drive from beach area.

Define the centre, the Los Alcázares Town Hall and Correos are in the old town. At the same time, the main restaurant area and residential area is in the middle of Los Narejos, near the Mercadonna with about 20 min walk between the two.

The leading supermarkets are 10 to 12 min walk the other way.  (from the most further supermarket Aldi to Town Hall is 2.5km)

Assume at the very least you will have bicycles with paniers/baskets. Essential really
