I know this is quite expensive in Spain. Does anyone have a rough idea how expensive it is to keep a fridge/ freezer running per month? The Electricity provider is Iberdrola.

The actual cost of the electricity you use is virtually insignificant compared to the meter rental, potencia contracted, tax, IVA etc.

We pay anything between 30 & 40 euro's - the majority of this is what PeterC stated.

Our last bill, for an all-electric house with actual consumption of 336kwh - 55.66 Euros - was 98.95 Euros.

Lighter usage would no doubt drop the 55.66 figure, but hardly shift the rest.

To actually answer the OP query......

Normal sized 2 third fridge 1 third freezer.

Running cost per month on iberdrola 3.3 KW tariff.

1.2 euro per month including IVA etc etc.

Thank you Roland, this is so useful to have.

Just a further question. Do you or anybody know if IBERDROLA have a low usage type electricity contract for customers using little or infrequent electricity if for example they are not in residence much?

Sorry Roland, you are wrong. If only the fridge freezer is running, everything else is shut off, you still pay the standing charges.
