Car tax

firstly you should be aware that a car is taxed from 1stJanuary to 31st December - never mind when it was registered and first taxed. The town hall will take the money (best by DD as you say) late summer, depending on local setup. Set up a DD at your town hall.

You need to go back to the Town Hall. They may have passed the bill onto the Agencia Tributaria to collect the debt in which case you pay it to them. Check your post box and your bank account as they would send a letter then they usually take the money direct from your account. In future you can arrange for a direct debit to be set up.

Yeah car tax does run from January my issue was I couldn’t get to Spain until September last year by that stage I couldn’t get into the town hall due to Covid & I couldn’t generate the bill online as it was too late. Fortunately today I was able to get access to the Town-hall and have been able to pay in the town hall.
