Hi all, ive got a bit of a problem with carpenter ants in my house, been advised to use a sugar & boric acid solution, can anyone please advise where to buy the boric acid? i tried Ala 30 garden centre today beside Decathlon in San Javier but they couldn't help, any advice greatly appreciated.

Dont mess around with home made remedies...get a fumigation company in to get rid of them....

Hi, for the last few years we too have been getting ants at one stage burrowing up from underneath the property we found that there was a nest in the garden and dealt with that but still had them coming into the house and one lady on FB advised an age old remedy that of putting copper coins down, this I did had a trail all along myhall way into the kitchen and into one of the bathroms - it worked no more ants. I have noticed them starting again this year so out come the copper coins and again no more ants. You need to change the copper coins every three weeks but all I know is that it works for me and I bless that lady for telling me.  Hope this helps.  regards Mo

What an earth is the science behind that then ??

Is it a bit like slugs not crossing a copper tape ??

You could try another old fashioned method. Put down talcum powder and they walk through it and take it back to the nests which then kills them. I think it suffocates them but it usually works!
