Any information on Santiago de la Ribera

Ribera is very busy in the summer months as its a popular holiday resort for the Spanish but much quieter in the winter. Busses are not very reliable a car is more or less essential if you want to get around.

I totally disagree with what Crissy has written.

There are many bus routes both to local areas Also Murcia city, Cartagena city, Alicante and many more destinations , such as local hospital 30 minutes during week days.

You have all the amenities, medical centre, farmacia, supermarkets, hairdresser, restaurants, bars, library,  theatre in fact more than many other villages.

It is a very flat area with enjoyable walking along the Mar Menor yes busier in the summer but that's the same with any coastal towns/villages

Hola  take a look at Balsicas    on a main bus route   to san javier onwards   Murcia city onwards   with a train station so you with ease get to

Cartagena   then up to the North    even Benidorm    and beyond     even can go South  

the "village" has a few shops   even a Spar   many Cafes    a chemist  a doctors   

also one brilliant restaurant  called  Spanglish   (English is spoken) 

also take a look at El Ray   

you will be away from the "madding crowd"  and even save money renting / buying  

shame you do not wish to drive    Sierra Golf is good

I've lived in Ribera for almost 20 years, I love it. We are both just 80 and find it a quiet area no hills etc.  The access to shopping facilities when we arrived, originally. Was virtually non existent but now we are spoiled for choice with many, many shops, cafes and restaurants. Good luck in your search, I doubt you could find a better place to live.
