Has anyone recently applied to register their S1 for healthcare? I'm at a loss as to what I should despite much searching on the internet. I would be grateful for advice as I am aware that procedures have changed since January 2021 Thanks in advance

Hola    you need your post code    then look on line  for Murcia   medico      this will give you your  local Medico

then pay a visit    you  need your "new" padron   (they like new ones)      the Si      (what ever other paper work)

or ask in Los Alcazares  for the LIBERTY seguros   office     av.marques rozaliejo 134

or send  e-mal   [email protected]

they do  driving licence    residencias   wills  among other things     so may do the "red & White" card

The original way I believe still stands - take all your paperwork to the nearest INSS office, - You need to make an online appointment anyway and they give you a temporary medical card and send you to nearest health centre to register and eventually you get plastic card.

I am still having trouble with registering my S1. Is my local INSS Office also my health centre or is that different altogether? and how do I find it? thanks in advance.

No they are different entitites.   Looking at the map your nearest one is  possibly Torrevieja ·- but I am not sure how they work - for instance in Camposol we have to go to Totana.

Using google there are pages for INSS but deciphering all the pages to make an appointment is hard.

I would get a translator to get an appointmenent for you at the right office,   You probably don;t need one to accompany you because as long as you have the right paperwork you should be ok - but if your worried take the translator.

I have also been reading some other forums and some areas the Town Hall handles the S1, have you any neighbours who might know?

Thanks everyone for help and advice regarding registring my S1.

i managed to get it all done online (with uk Govt, advice) and am now waiting to get my registration response to take to my local health centre. (The spanish application form was the difficult bit). I uploaded the required documents and photo and have had confirmation that it has been recieved.

What a relief. Now for exchanging for driving licence.
