Hi

most smart TV's do not support the iptv system that flexa use.

If you call their San Pedro office 968 018 500 and when you are answered just press option 2 on your keypad, as instructed and you will be put through to an English speaker.

Yes you will need a digibox from them. We have one and it's excellent. If you send a message via whatsapp with the same number someone will contact you back.

Better to call them and have an engineer come and install then you will have no problem. Their office in San Pedro is the main office San Javier is a sub.

It seems that most "smart" TVs are a bit too smart for their own good when it comes to wanting to use proprietary, third-party IP-based services. Once you have the Flexa box installed, you may have to go into the (Smart) TV Settings and switch the TV to (computer) "Monitor" mode for the Flexa TV service. All the necessary "smartness" for these types of managed services is contained within the service-provider's box, in this case, the Flexa TV box. If you don't switch off the Smart technology on the TV itself, then the Smart elements on both the box and the TV can contend with one another and cause problems. If you don't use any of the Smart apps on the TV, you can leave it in Monitor mide, but if you use any of the on-board TV apps, you may have to keep switching between the 2 modes. If you just want a managed TV service, you don't need a Smart TV because all the "Smart" stuff is in the service-provider's box. Somewhat paradoxically, a "dumb" TV (or even a computer monitor) is a better option, because it doesn't create the kind of "Smart-wars" often experienced with Smart TVs.

I can't recommend a TV service provider, although I was under the impression that Flexa did provide a UK TV service (?). I've seen billboards saying €9.99/month for the first 3 months, then €29.99/month thereafter. I have posted on the subject of receiving UK TV in Spain several times before. If you're not a technophobe, it's possible to do-it-yourself, and for less money. It's particularly cost-effective if you're not a permanent resident, as you don't have to pay €29.99/month (or whatever) for a service when you're not here. To do it yourself, you will, in any case, require a broadband connection, plus access to a SUITABLE (i.e. for streaming) VPN software application (not all are), and some hardware (again, of appropriate specification) to run it from. It can, on occasion, be bitty, and frustrating, but depending on what UK TV services you have access to (back in Blighty), it can allow you to view a more expansive range of services than the managed services offered by local providers.
