Taxis

Hi there,
Myself and 5 friends are staying in Valle Del Sol in September and I was keen to find out if there is a reliable taxi service which I am able to use in the area which is able to be booked on the day for 6 people... OR... is it worth hiring a car - if this is the case does any one have any cheap and reliable car hire companies, we are flying into Alicante airport if that makes any difference?
Any information would be great at this stage.
