Why do we need a Tesco Store?  Isn't there enough with Mercadona, Lidl, AldI,  Consum and Dia.

Does anybody really eat Paxo I wonder.

I read the article on murcia today. com

What are your thoughts folks.

I see you're based in Aguilas, is that where Tesco are proposing to build, or is it nationwide? I haven't seen the article but it wouldn't surprise me. Personally I go to a foreign country to enjoy their food and I wouldn't want a Tesco near me.

Tesco have opened a franchised store in Puerto de Mazarron. I don’t know if they are testing the water but, if a success, I can see them opening in many places.

The devil is in the detail....just like there are no Iceland stores in Spain, only Overseas Supermarkets stores selling Iceland and Waitrose products.

When I was last there they were fitting out the old Spar supermarket, so I'm guessing it's that one. I just hope the Brits will still use the Spanish supermarkets, it would be a shame for them to suffer.

It is the old Spar supermarket site.

Used to be an Upper supermarket before it became a Spar

You'll get all those things and more in Iceland in San Javier.  At least you will until Brexit happens, if it happens - its a wait and see as to what happens then.  I know how you feel about endless fish and chicken but you can get very good steaks for example in Mercadona and Lidl, good burgers too, oh and if you like Cumberland sausages Iceland have them  - they even have Scotch eggs sometimes and Maris Piper potatoes as well.  They also have a decent cheese section and English muffins by Warburtons.  Hope this helps.
