My father died recently and we have death certificate from crematorium. Do we also have to register the death as we do in UK or not? The solicitor handling the will has said we do but friends have said they have not done this.

I am visiting El Algar to clear my fathers house who died recently. He left lots of medication. Do I need to take this to a pharmacy for safe disposal as we do in UK? If so could you please suggest a note to hand to the pharmacist as I speak no Spanish? Thanks.
