The trouble is once one dog barks the surrounding dogs join in. We used to have one dog next to us which was fine but now they have a wee yappy dog who barks every time we drive into the house. Also same people walk there dogs every day and the barking starts again. My husband was driving down quite a busy road near us and out of the bushes three dogs ran out in front of the car. I'm not a dog lover but it's a shame they don't seem to get any discipline or love.

Exu,

On mazarron.es you'll find this:

Ordenanza reguladora de la tenencia y protección de los animales
It mentions not allowing dogs to bother people, not leaving dogs outside to bark during the night.
Also, being a Doberman it may be classified as a dangerous dog, so the police may well be interested in that too.

Doberman is not a banned breed and not dangerous unless provoked and treated badly. If it is kept in a cage without a chance to run and get rid of energy, it will bark to show its frustration. Sadly, many southern countries use dogs as alarm systems and don’t give them the life they deserve. Spraying them with a hose is cruel and temporary. Befriending them is better. I am an ardent dog lover who just adopted two dogs whose owner died in Calpe and know it takes time to train a dog. I would write to the local paper to name and shame the neighbour. Also, talk to galgosdelsol rescue for advice.

Good luck!
