You also need a tourist licence to legally take paying guests!

He is wrong unless he is registering properties himself.....all holiday let properties must have a tourist licence or are liable to huge fines ...you must register all guests with the local police and need a licence number to do this.......suggest you look on CAB Spain website

If you are renting short term eg holiday makers then you will need a tourist licence, the fines are horrendous I've read of someone being fined 90.000 euros

hi, From what I have been told you do need a tourist licence but can recommend corral and Alcaraz to sort the tax. good luck with your new venture x
Ok.. Thank you all for your comments.
So here is what I have found out. I went down to the community centre on sector B and spoke to Mr Fernandez The man from Murcia council regarding a tourist licence.
Here is what he said. And I quote: "If you are letting out a single property on a part time holiday basis and using it yourself for the rest of the time, You DO NOT need a tourist licence. If you have a property that is only used for renting out holiday let. You DO need a tourist licence".
Hope that helps anyone in the same position as myself.
