Thats correct but now you need over €9000 in your bank account. So have had to get a statement certificate from the spanish bank and also copy every page of our passports for Murcia region. We have 10 days to go back to them so they can continue with the next appointment

It is getting very complicated. Are you in the EU? If not, you will have to prove ( under schengen (?) Rules ) that you will not be a burden on Spain. So, when I applied for my residencia, just after the Brexit vote, I had to prove I had over €5k in the bank and an income of €2k  per month as I was retired. If you are looking to get a work Visa, then it is much tighter if you are not in the EU. Best to go to the Spanish government website and read the rules and conditions. Different areas seem to be asking for different things, from the Brits. Let us see what happens after December. If in the EU, then you have freedom of movement, freedom to work within the EU and access to health care and education.

If you intending to become a full time resident then yes you do need 'a certain amount of money'.

Gloria 007. look on C.A.B Spain ..and you will read that you need money in the Bank and private Health insurance policy if you are under UK retirement age...if you are a UK OAP at the moment your pension. book is normally sufficient proof of income (but a UK state pension on it's own it is not enough to live on in Spain) at the moment a UK OAP does not require private health care insurance.... after January 2021 if you are on a UK pension you will need a private health insurance policy also your UK state pension money will not be enough to qualify you to become a Spanish full time resident...after January 2021.

Please look on the Spanish governments web site. It will give you an accurate outline of what you will need.

Hi can you tell me how much money do you have to have to live in camposol

Hi Anni

I would take advice from CAB, I don't know the answere to that particular question  but what I do know is we haven't been asked how much we've got.

But I know we're not a drain on the Spanish System.

When did you get your residencia? My partner was not asked for proof of income either, but that was before the Brexit vote. I do not expect you were fingerprinted either, but you will be, when your residencia is no longer valid. I do not think , if you have already got your residencia, that they ask you for proof of income but anyone coming over from a non EU country will be, and fingerprinted and photographed. And of course the UK voted out. So things change.

Oh, then, you WERE after Brexit. How come you didn't have to prove your income ,and I did ?  I must look disreputable.  I have heard lots of different amounts being quoted, that you need to have. I can only say, what I had to prove. Which is why I say to look at the Spanish gov website.  Although when we transfer to the IT, we will have our fingerprints taken. I wonder what happens if someone has a criminal record?????
