opening a bank account in spain

i am renting in Spain from February and wish to open a bank account. Could you please advise what documents are required to open a bank account.

You will need a NIE number and proof of a permanent residence /Rent book will do. The people you are renting from will give you the info on how to get a NIE...this is easy to obtain.
thanks for that, i do have a NIE number so proof of tenancy should be enough i hope
