We are still in SEPA.

It's against the law for Sabadell, or anyone else to charge whilst we are still in SEPA.

They have just out up my quarterly fee to €40, but no fees.

Thanks to Roland, I have set up accounts with Wise (formerly Transferwise).

There are no, or VERY low charges, but the rate is better than all the others I could find.

Hope this helps.

THANKS TO ROLAND AND OTHER POSTERS ABOUT WISE

Spain will ignore the rules, and do what they want, as proved by the charges that did not exist, along with more charges like import taxes, and account management charges.

Yes up to all to find what suits them, we are all different, and go for what we like, and trust.

I was getting €30 charges for UK transfers in with La Caixa from Currencies Direct.

I contacted CD and they said banks are (deliberately?) mis-interperating the rules and they would refund me the charges and to contact the bank.

I emailed La Caixa explaining this and they refunded me as well and I haven't been charged since.

RESULT.

We have our pensions sent to Currencies Direct and they then pay them into Sabadell bank, and they have had the 18Euro charge stopped, and they refunded our charges, they have been great from day one over 3 years. Speak to Carol in the Camposol office.

Sabadell will try every trick in the book now to get money out of ex pats, they make up their own rules now , and blame Brexit, but thats crap, there is no difference for what was happening  to now what is happening, its pure greed. ...

Ok, if that doesn't work for you, change everything to Wise. I have, and this will stop all your charges and Sabadell will either carry on, or stop charging.

We are leaving this reap off bank! They have become greedy and change the rules and fees whenever it suits them. They blame Brexit for everything when the true reason is that they are going down the drain and are up to their eyeballs with debts

They have millions of repossessed properties in their books which makes them risky. €94 millions profit is not huge.
