Hi,

I’m planning to work remotely and wanted to know generally how reliable Compusurf is and how consistent the speeds are.

They told me their speeds are around 30-40mbps download but wanted to see if that is generally pretty accurate.

Planning on using a wired ethernet connection which should help.

Needs to be good enough to handle video calling on Teams with multiple people.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also to further on from that - what are Telecable like? How quick is installation?

I use Compusurf Hotspot.

Maximum speed I get is 10 Mbps.

Okay for watching TV / videos etc.

The big problem with Compusurf is that being wireless internet it is very weather dependent.

Certain conditions & speeds really take a hit.

If you need stable fast internet you would be better going with one of the cable companies.

Although they cost more

Hi there, there are three primary Internet providers in Camposol. Two are fibre and Compusurf is satellite. I only have experience of the fibre companies, both of which provide up to 300mbps, which is ample for your needs. These are Telitec and Telecable. Compusurf runs on lower speeds, however it is highly regarded for its customer service and is based on Sector B. Both the fibre companies used to have physical offices on Camposol. I am not sure if they still do. I am sure someone will comment. Until recently I used my connection for video conferencing and preferred the fibre option. If you are non resident the Compusurf “holiday” rates are very good. Hope this helps.

We use Telecable. €30/mth, 600mbps.we took the largest, as the difference was €5, and we need a dependable connection. We run Video calls, TV and portable devices simultaneously,  regularly.

We have  the maximum to ensure speed and power for Teams etc. Probably too much, but it is excellent and we have had no issues.

No office on Camposol now, it used to be on A, by Tropicanas ( to the right as you face it). The reason I tell you that is the numbers, leaflets etc are still there.

The lady who works for them( if she's still there) speaks fluent English and Spanish and German.

If I remember correctly,  installation was €60 and they did it in a few days.

If you are lucky they use the conduit from the wall to run the hard wire into the house.

If you want a 'holiday' they charge €12/mth .

They are on Facebook, Telecable Camposol

Phone number +34 968171144

www.grupotelecable.es

They sometimes have incentives on, for example 1st three months free.

If you say an existing customer recommends you (ie me!! ) they did give the new customer a €15 credit and the existing customer!

Not sure if they are doing any incentives, but worth the question!

PM me if you require more.Happy to help

Good luck & DYOR

Ray

I work from our holiday home when out there using the compusurf system and have had no issues with conference calls via Teams or zoom even when screen sharing. Downloading of files etc not been an issue either,  I work for an SME company so lots of e mail traffic too.

Can’t disagree with the other comments on fibre network I would just add that all of the companies experience difficulties at times with systems being down so none are problem free.

hope this helps.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the response - may I ask what sector you’re on? And also is it just their Hotspot wifi you’re using?

Thanks,

Chloe

Sector B and Compusurf Hotspot. I request switch on for date when I’m visiting and pay online. Visit around 6 times a year so sampled all weathers.

CompuServe is not satellite it from an ariei similar to mobile phones, but more directional.
