Is there no public transport at all in Camposol? We are moving over in September but don't want to have the expense of buying a car.

Sorry but I'm afraid there isn't - well, as far as I know.  There used to be a tourist train which ran around during the evenings, ferrying people to and from places, but I don't think its running any more.

If you are going to live on Camposol you will need transport. Some people manage with a bicycle or a moped but a car is very handy when you have to get some shopping. Also what will happen when you have to go to Cartagena to get your paperwork etc or if you have to go there for the hospital. Without transport you will be marooned on Camposol. Taxis don't even come here.

There's a bus - Mazarron to Totana I believe.  Not sure of the times, best to check on the internet  - but I often see it going one way or the other.  Stops, I think by the farmacia on A and at the commercial centre on B

Do a google map search and find out for yourself how remote this place is. I would think a car is essential.

Was seriously considering buying in Camposol for retirement BUT after seeing posts about no public transport (I don't drive) am now looking elsewhere

Is it really that bad?

Public transport is poor all over Spain. If you can't drive then get a bicycle. Wherever you live you will need some form of transport or you will be taking cabs everywhere.

I don't drive either so we bought on A where all the amenities are within a 10 minute walk  . We live on a perimeter road and buses go by regularly everyday including Sunday . My husband drives so we get out and about . Camposol is a great place to live but I would say unless you live in a city you will need a car in Spain . Good luck in your search .

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

No as stated I was 'considering' to buy.

Planned to visit for 2-3 weeks in December to view and check out area but if no public transport and difficulty with obtaining taxi then see no point in wasting time and money.

Thanks
