What's the cost of car insurance and tax in Spain? Any reccomendations? If I was to buy an X or S Type Jaguar that's 5 or so years old how much would it cost to insure and tax?

Unfortunately they don't publish the prices for road tax. It depends on the emissions, my tax on a 2.2 litre Toyota is €150. As for insurance best bet is to phone a few brokers and get quotes, I am assuming its on spanish plates. Breakdown cover is compulsory in Spain and usually included in the price, however most companies will only take your vehicle to the nearest garage. I use Linear Direct as they give unlimited EU cover and I find their prices competitive.

They will take your previous history into account when working out your initial premium but every year they increase it but of you phone and complain they give you a discount, I usually end up paying about the same every year.
