If you buy a Spanish registered car in the UK, there will be no import taxes to pay if you bring it to Spain.
You will, however, need to pay a tax (and gestor fee) to re-register it into your name/address. This fee is the same if you buy the car in Spain or in the UK.
If you buy from a competent/specialist UK dealer, you will probably receive all the necessary documentation, and they might be able to sort out the re-registration for you via "their own" Spanish gestor.
But if you buy privately, be aware that you will need ...
- the car's Permiso de Circulacion (original, not a copy)
- the car's Matricula Certificado (original, not a copy) - which also serves as the ITV (MOT) record
- the previous owner's ID ... passport/Residencia/TIE and Padron (copies)
- a contract of sale signed by the previous owner (it is usual for the previous owner to sign such a contract when selling the car to an intermediary).
You will need to insure the car. Re-registration can take a few weeks in Spain (it isn't an online process, like the UK). So you need a "justification document", to explain to any interested police officer why you have a car that appears to belong to someone else.
