Hi I think the road you may be referring to is the M50 around Madrid, which is the one I plan to use, and I am thinking that I will leave camposol around 3am aiming to get past Madrid by approx. 8am, this should leave me a reasonably pressure free journey to Bilbao.

...nd a small bar with light snacks. We have parked our well packed car there without any worries. From here it’s about 2 1/2 hours to Bilbao/ ferry. Hope this gives you another option. Jaz
