We also had a problem with wasps nests inside the railings outside the back door and up the stairs. Advice to us was spray the nests with good wasp killer spray early in the morning about 6-7am when it’s cool and the wasps are still asleep and they’ll die and drop down. We did and it worked! If the nest is high up and you need a ladder to get close call in a professional. A wasp sting is one thing, a fall of say 15 feet is quite another. I would ask in the local bar as there is usually someone that all the others use - "Pepe Avispa" or whoever.
