Bar:Shop on sector D
Has there ever been plans to put a bar or shop on sector D I’m sure it would make a killing. Save people having to drive everytim
Don't know if there have been plans, but I am in favour !!!
Apparently there were plans for a school, shops and all sorts but they never materialized.
There’s a disused laundry that was also previously a bit of a cafe but the owners didn’t have the correct license so it closed. There are a couple of people looking at trying to open a convenience store there but whether it actually happens remains to be seen.

To be truthful, Sector D is the largest sector on the whole complex so it makes great business sense to try and develop something there. It would be very convenrient in terms of travelling but a lot of people on D lie the quiet and seclusion so not sure how that would go down..?
I am interested to see what facilities the hotel will offer once it re-opens as that could be a nice compromise..?

There certainly IS an opportunity on Sector D, but there are perhaps less risky ways to "make a killing"!
I always wonderred why the Laundry-Shop, which I am told also sold milk, bread, & a few essentials (but was just before my time), had closed down but if, as another respondent has said, it was down to Licences- well, Spanish Burocracy IS infamous world-wide!
There certainly is a demand, especially for large-capacity industrial washing machine provision (Duvets) although some D-Residents do naturally fear the possibility of noisey patrons and the increased traffic any developement would likely generate, -so addressing such concerns in your planning could be crucial in `getting-the-neighbours-on-board'!
If any such new `Laundrette' enterprise were to offer `Service-Washes' at a small premium, then I should think that would increase demand, and that the necessary staffing would not only be self-financing but, help to allay any excessive noise, or anti-social behaviour. Perhaps a small cafe for those doing their own washing?
The launderette in the Port up top by Furniture Plus is brilliant and inexpensive - drop duvet etc off and pick it up next day - a 10% discount on cost if you pay in advance.
Thank you, good to know!
