Do you mean the bridge repair ? because they’ve done a good job on the bridge repair but I can’t understand why they didn’t repair the pot holes on the other side of the bridge road, guess that’s a different budget.

Phil,

The bridge repair is a tidy job and should stop a reoccurrence from happening again but you would have thought that a new top coat of Tarmac would have been applied to the entire bridge to stop motorist driving on the opposite side of the road to avoid the damaged surface.

The whole road situation and lack of maintenance and street lighting puts my wife and I off buying  .

Typical Spanish bodge / half finished job.

Perhaps an email to the local councillor might get the job finished properly.

There are two separate issues here. Firstly, the repairs that have been carried out were to the approach road to the bridge, not the actual bridge itself. The problem with the approach road was that "someone' apparently thought it a good idea some time ago, to remove the kerb stones, therefore allowing all the water to run over the edge of the road, culminating in the damage that has now been repaired.

The other issue is the suitability of the actual bridge, which apparently was a temporary solution when the bridge collapsed before. The council has been looking at what the permanent solution should be and at a meeting with the CRA last October mentioned that it may be more economical to build a bridge in the original position, in effect joining together the dual carriageway on  either side of the Rambla.  I presume the considerations re still underway.

Hope that helps
