It was a 'Super Helpful' reply.

The poster is not going to get a response to a query for rental accommodation in a thread entitled 'Crime Rate'.

If they start their own thread entitled 'Rental Accommodation Wanted' then they will get a response to that.

Personally I thought it was arrogant rather than anything else. Sometimes what’s in your head and what appears in print can be poles apart. Don’t think we need to pursue it anymore.

Sounds lovely. But as it’s the same as the UK it’s ok. I’m Irish and very interested that you just seem to accept what sounds horrendous as the norm? Not a great advertisement.

Some years ago on D sector it wasn't unusual to get 4 or burglaries a night. The common denominator was always flat screen TV,s where on earth did they end up?

There are still break ins but not to the extent of the past.

Again, good home security is highly recommended as anywhere these days!

Hi I’ve recently joined the forum and looks like we’ll be coming down to view properties at end of July. Just wondering what and if there is any crime in Camposol, what should we be aware of? Any help much appreciated 😊

Yes there is crime in Camposol unfortunately but I cannot think of anywhere in the world that is crime free

Perhaps the question should be " how do I protect my property from a criminal attack"

We have a property alarm, not linked to any company as they can be expensive imo, an array of solar dusk to Dawn & timed electricity lights, anti snap locks on all exterior doors. We also & more importantly have fantastic neighbours & friends that will observe our property if we are out as we do for them.

The community spirit of Camposol is wonderful but you will get out of it what you put in

Camposol also has expert volunteers that will gladly advise freely their knowledge of home protection

We are living here almost 16 years & continue to love & enjoy our decision to relocate here with never a day of regret other than we still stutter on grasping the Spanish language

Make the move & let the dreams begin

That’s wonderful thank you so nice to hear of the community spirit. Yes we will be there in august for at least a month to check everything out and view properties. That’s  if the lawyers do their job. We’ve sold our house and buyers want a quick move. However it’s France so we shall see. Would be lovely to meet up with people. Thank you so much

I am also Irish.

I've lived on Camposol for 3 years now and own two properties here.

It's a great place to be.

One has to be sensible about security. Good locks etc. Don't leave a place obviously empty.

There are people who will attempt burglary etc all over the world.

Make it difficult and they go elsewhere. As for personal assaults etc. Nope. Never come close here. The secret there is not to present yourself as a victim. That is true everywhere. Very much so in parts of the UK.

Someone mentioned 'Hugger Muggers'. These are commonly female.
If someone you DON'T know attempts to get close physical contact. SCREAM in their face. Draw attention to what is happening. Be prepared to push them away with extreme prejudice.

Do NOT be embarrassed. That is part of the Mugger's toolset.

Oh right that’s something I’ve never heard many thanks 🙂
