Good news for those that registered to exchange but have not yet. An extension to be able able to drive on uk licence has been agreed until 31st October.

My understanding is that those who registered to exchange their UK driving licence have until 31/12/21 to exchange it. Those that didn't register, for whatever reason, to exchange their licence last year will be able to drive on their UK driving licence up to 31/10/21. The extension to 31/10/21 has been given while negotiations, regarding the exchange of a UK driving licence to a Spanish one post brexit, remain ongoing.

If you registered to exchange the extension applies if you didn't you still need to take a test I believe. If you arrived in Spain after 1st Jan you can only drive on uk licence for 6 months.

The date has now been extended until end of October.

...id nothing else. When I tried in the New Year to continue the process I was told I was not registered. So I have been trying to find a driving school for the last couple of months but with no joy as yet. Most put phone down when you ask if they speak English, the bigger one's will not even answer emails sent in Spanish so where doe's it leave us who can't get an exchange.
Hi, try the Autoescuela Lorca, The instructor spoke English, as did the examiner when I sat my test. 672 432 124. Use whatsapp to contact the school and use app to translate. They were very helpful and despite the fact I have been driving for 50 years I now have to have a green L plate in the back window of the car for 2 years. It was a bit of a paion having to study for the theory but its now out of the way. Good luck.
