WARNING

stay the hell away from cars in spain, I purchased from him last year and my god I wished I didn't.

The owner is a typical car salesman, tells you everything you want to hear. Except the problems my car had & then didn't want to rush to sort it ( but was very quick to take my money )

I even said I would take him to court if my car wasn't sorted asap. His reply was this.

You can try if you like, but your get nowhere in Spain with it. Then he blocked my number & I had to get my wife to deal with him.

Eventually got the car about 12 weeks after paying in full.

Don't buy from here......

OMG this sounds awful.  I might just bring my car over and re register it only problem is its RHD.  Thanks for the warning

Well we have bought two cars from Paul at “ Cars in Spain “ never had an issue he gave us a good price for the part exchange but there are plenty of cars sales garages in Spain why import a right hand drive car it’ll cost you a fortune getting it registered and you’ll pay import tax, car parks and toll roads will be an issue and you’ll get stopped more by the Police 👮‍♀️

Hi Phil

If I bring my car over its on an Irish EU plate so will that be any easier to re register in Spain.  It says as long as it passes the ITV test there shouldn't be a problem

You’ll still need to get all the lights realigned to pass an ITV not sure about import tax or registration as it’s an EU registered car but personally I’d would not consider using a right hand drive car in Spain for reason I’ve already gone into.

Great advice as always Phil,

hi Ali,

There are always poor experiences but not all dealers are the same, all I would suggest is look around and don’t rush, certainly better to get a left hand drive spanish car rather than importing, also the earlier poster advising of a bad experience was of one dealer not all

hope this helps

I highly recommend buying a left hand drive in the UK and driving down. I have two vehicles and it really does mitigate the risks cost and frustrations people are highlighting in this forum. Yes it might be a longer process but your peace of mind it increased significantly and you are far more likely to get a better deal. Auto trader and e bay are good platforms.  I hope this helps.
