However was once one of the greatest industrial area in the UK.
Great cars produced at coventry, long time ago.
Not sure what goes on there now, but know its a very mixed community.

Many northern cities were the back bone of the UK, and had massive employment, along with great industries.
Sadly all declined, and wrecked everything.
There is still industry, but it belongs to other countries, and they can dictate, and pull out at a moments notice
If I had for seen the future I would have purchased a great empty warehouse, as now with flats in them, they sell for 2.5 million each.
British engineers were the best in the world, now look.
What about the British MINI, we decided to sell it, and it was sold for £1, yes £1, now look at it since it was sold, at one point every 1 car in 5 was a new mini.
Because we decided not to invest in its new future, what mugs we were.
I may be optomistic, but now is the time to start making all the goods we import, it may cost more, but we can do it, and put millions of UK workers back in a job.
No more cheap imports, but it takes investment, and a lot of political guts to achieve this.
May be I am a dreamer, but what a DREAM for a new future.

Put more U.K. workers into work, workers earn money which they spend locally and in the country as a whole. The money spent keep other businesses afloat and if those businesses are British well and good. I

Agree.
We now have the opportunity to tell all those eastern countries we no longer want your goods, we are going to make our own.
It may cost us more to set up, but once we get going, it will pay.
No more cheap imports of shoddy goods, start our own production.
Many millions will be out of work now, and there are many more on benefit hand outs.
It takes guts, it takes brains, but it can be done.
Bids are now being placed by the middle east for Rolls Royce, we cannot let that happen, we will lose everything British.
The whole world will have to restart some where, lets get going now and get ahead.
Get started and as we produce, tell the imports they are no longer needed.
Stop payments of millions going abroad, tax payers money to countries who are sending rockets to the moon, and using our aid to make fire arms to continue wars for nothing.
Strong words, but its worth a try as we hit rock bottom.

The British have invented wonderful things but never maintain them, no money I spit into R & D. Companies cease producing through falling sales, get bought out by a foreign company, in which case profits go overseas or the inventor looks overseas for investment. As mentioned the Mini, a great car in the 1960s but that is where it stayed, it was sold to BMW and is now a swish, deluxe run about.
