Hi all.  Just so you are all aware, I was visiting my villa on Camposol in the middle of February this year. I had a hire car which i had got from Record rent a car at alicante airport.

I was nabbed by a speed camera on the AP7 doing 132 KPH in a 120 zone. the hire car company passed my details to the Spanish authorities (and charged me 40 euro's for the privilege). I then received a 100 euro fine through the post to my house in England. I paid it online, the fine was reduced to 50 euro's because I paid within 20 days of reception of the letter.

Be warned everyone, the speed camera's on the Spanish motorways DO work, and you will be fined if you speed.

This happened to me 2 years ago driving my English registered car. The good thing is you don't get points.

of course I saw it!  i was merely trying to warn people on the forum that the cameras work, and the spanish will fine you whether you are in the country or not.

No need to be sarcastic.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the info it’s always worth keeping us updated, I for one have had to book flights to Alicante as Ryanair have either stopped flights from local airports to Murcia or increased the prices. Is the AP7, the best route to Camposol and are there tolls to pay on this road, it would be good to know.

Have done the Alicante run several times now, it's the A7 you want, not the AP7. No tolls on A7. Still tolls on the stretch of AP7 we use to get to Cartagena from Camposol.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Tell you what, I was just trying to warn fellow brits not to fall foul of the speed camera's on the spanish roads, and it end up costing hard earned cash.

In reply I get crappy sarcastic comments from a minority, who have a track record on this forum of trying to belittle other users who are simply trying to use the forum to provide help for others.

Keep hiding behind your keyboards.

Dont wear out your fingers bothering to reply to this, I wont be reading it. i'm finished with this forum.

They are well advertised, like France. Not hidden like the UK.

Why oh Why are people so sarcastic? My view only but I thought these forums were meant for all to be respectful and kind towards each other. Why aren't these sarcastic nasty people banned? They are not needed and spoil most peoples enjoyment of these forums. They appear to think that their sarcasm is a form of high intelligence and should get real, it is the lowest form.

Jan has done marvellous work which is being spoiled by these "dick-heads".

I was not in anyway being sarcastic. I was only pointing out facts. If you take my comments as being sarcastic I am sorry. But don't be so touchy!
