The urbanisation Mazarron Country Club has a bar/restraunt/swimming pool. It's inside the huge walled area bang in the centre of the urbanisation. You can see them on Facebook, Taverna MCC. About a mile away is the 24 HR BP filling station/supermarket complex. It can be reached via the old road which runs parallel to the dual carriageway. Thus it's not nescessary to go onto the dual carriageway. The Charter brand supermarket is very well stocked....in fact being owned by Consum the same people who run the supermarket in Camposol B. I can walk to Camposol commercial sectors A or B down the Via Verde walking path or drive to A or B commercial sectors much faster than anyone who lives in Camposol sector D, even most of C.
Perhaps the best bit about MCC urbanisation is inside the big building opposite the Taberna. Any problems ....go into the office and get it sorted. We have an estates management team, whom we, the residents employ. Thus all aspects are managed in-house such as street lighting, garden areas, rubbish collection, water, sewerage, noise, insects, roads, footpaths, CCTV, security, post boxes, dog poo, etc etc.
Being so close to Camposol amenities is convenient but its also less than 5 km (from the back entrance) to Mazarron town. The Via Verde also goes in this direction and is walking distance as well.
Incidentally a Spar supermarket is currently being constructed in the big admin building as well. Also in this building is Carthosat, a phone TV internet supplier, as well as Casana, a private rentals and estate agency. They provide a full service solution if you want to rent out your property in MCC.
I did look elsewhere in the region as the original poster intends, Camposol included. I felt that you get what you pay for. Whilst the prices in Camposol are a bit lower, if you simply compare square footage, please remember that about 100 million Euros is currently nescessary to bring the infrastructure of Camposol up to standard. It won't come from the local council. It can only come from the residents themselves....someday. I would not want that hanging over my head!
With the energy prices so high globally it's as important in Spain as anywhere else to buy an energy efficient property. That's why I brought up the cavity wall issue. Simply put, Spain is an earthquake zone, thus property's are built with a reinforced concrete framework. The exterior walls just fill in the gaps. If you see evidence of a Framework inside the building it's single layer blocks that fill those gaps. At the urbanisation country club the walls are twin layers with insulation between. I often read about horrendous electric bills on this forum. Mine are a fraction of what I pay in the UK. Damp is not an issue either.
Sorry for being so long winded. For anyone wishing to visit the Urbanisation Mazarron Country Club you can just drive in. Press the green button and the barriers just open. They open automatically for residents as it reads their car reg. You will of course be recorded on CCTV as you enter which acts as an effective deterrent to would be burglars.
