We have a log burner in our house that we purchased recently.

We can have a fire in it, but the fan will not work (yes, I plugged in the power plug).

Can anyone advise me what steps to take, or who to involve?

Kind regards,

Hi

Are we talking about an actual wood burning stove or an electrical fire with log burning effect?  Its been some years since I saw the latter but I recall back in the day the single or twin fans sometimes needed to be turned manually to get them started.

Hi,

We actually burn wood in the burner, so start a small fireand than bigger logs and so on.

There is a small knob (lower right hand side) that should control a fan speed (so I am told by the real estate agent selling the house)...

Hello George,

It might be worth having a look on You Tube.

Someone on there might be able to solve your problem.

Hi George ,

Had the same problem. Went to Chimneas in Mazarron, on the right hand side of the road, on the corner, as you drive in from Camposol. They sold me an external thermostat controller which you plug into the wall socket. Cost , 20 euros about 2 years ago. Hope this helps.

Hi, the log burner in the property I rented a couple of years ago had a built in thermostat that stopped the fan from running until the fire was hot.

It might be worth googleing the make and model No to check out.

Good luck with sorting it out.
