HI, does any one know if you are allowed to repaint your villa a different colour to what it is.?

Do you need permission to alter the colour.

Thanks.

Looking at some of the colours people near us have used I suspect not! No self respecting official would allow some of the ones used.

Now if you were living in Lanzarote they do control colours, white for the exterior walls and either green or blue for the door/window frames.

Don't think there are any restrictions.

There was a bright orange villa on B or C a few years ago.

And a lime green one on A.

My neighbours have said you’re supposed to stick to Camposol yellow and white or apply to the town hall for permission/a license if you want to change it. It only costs a couple of Euros and you could be fined if they they choose to pick on you and you haven’t done so.

Thanks, I thought there might be some rule, and of course Spanish cost.

Still - you wouldn’t like it if your neighbours suddenly painted theirs bright purple with yellow spots!

Interesting as it may be, or not, the rule in the UK is that you can paint your house any colour you like, and it is the belief of the Indian community and there religion, that there houses should be painted very vivid bright colours to ward of evil spirits, and bright purple is one of the colours they paint them.

I remember in my past time, being called to a irate house owner who was complaining loudly about the colour of the house just painted next door.

It was indeed bright purple, with yellow lines.

Nothing you can do.

Sorry, but but a interesting fact.

There is nothing that can be done about it.
